The action takes place in the modern Portland, where a homicide detective learns that he is a descendant of a group of hunters known as "Grimm" who fight to keep humanity safe from the supernatural creatures. Upon learning of his fate, and that he is the last of its kind, it must protect every living soul from the sinister storybook characters that have infiltrated the real world
