After the positive response to the emergence of the readers of John Constantine in the comics В«Swamp ThingВ», where he was introduced to Alan Moore, he, in 1988, was allocated a separate comic book series. Initially it was assumed that the series will be called В«HellraiserВ» (Hellraiser), but this title was revised before publication due to the simultaneous release of unbound comic book movie of the same name by Clive Barker.
