DC Essentials – Batman – The Killing Joke #1

The plot is built around the Joker attempts to bring to mind the Police Commissioner James Gordon Gotham, intermittent flashes of memories Joker about his former life, before his transformation.

The man who will become the Joker - unnamed engineer, who resigned from his job at a chemical company to become a stand-up comedian, but fails. In desperation, with his pregnant wife Jenny, he agrees to two criminals on the chemical factory where he used to work in order to rob the card company next door. During planning, the policeman tells him that his wife died because of household accidents. Heartbroken, the engineer is trying to give up crime, but the criminals make him go for it.
