The Guardians reveal their secret plan for Kyle Rayner, but will he embrace his new destiny ... or rebel against it?

Oa- Torquemada and Garmin Vid are reunited just in time to see Kyle Rayner, with a bound Nero in tow, return to Oa. After explaining to the two Lanterns that is was Nero, disguised as Kyle that attacked them Kyle goes to see the Guardians. Inside the Guardian catheral, Kyle demands answers. The Guardians explain that Kyle is the Torch-Bearer and that they could not allow any other Lanterns to help him because they needed to know he could handle the power.

When Nero awakes he panics and ranting that he could not be near the Guardians, because that what he wants. Nero then starts to explode but Kyle uses the power of Ion to stop the blast and save the Guardians. They thank him, in there own way and send him back to earth to learn how to use his powers.

Earth- Marissa is being escort to Tarra Karn's ship to be kidnapped off world when Kyle arrives and save her. He then throws Tarra off world and Marissa runs back to the Notch. When Kyle returns to his studio a man off panel points at him and tells him he should not be alive.
