Once a year, Wally West and Dick Grayson get together for a short holiday trip. This time they travel to New Orleans to visit the "Nightmare House". 40 years ago millionaire L.P. Gregory started this building project and until this day it is not finished - instead it gets continuously extended making the interior a maze and an attraction for tourists. Dick did not chose this location randomly though. Just a few days ago Mr. Gregory got killed and Dick hopes to solve this murder mystery together with Wally.
In their costumes, Flash and Nightwing search the house for clues regarding the murder. Flash quickly runs to the aid of two young women who have found another dead body. The man was killed the same way as L.P. Gregory. Flash wants to find a way out of the building, but the more doors he opens the more strange the situation gets. The doors seem kind of magical because every door represents an entrance to one of the biggest cities on earth. The only conclusion for Wally is that aliens are involved which could use the house as the starting point for a global invasion. At first Nightwing is surprised about these news, but he found original building plans in the library indicating that the house looks like a pentagram.
Flash suggests to call the Justice League for support, but the housekeeper (an undercover alien) does not want any of that and he has the weapons to back himself up. Suddenly a dimensional rift opens above the house and huge beings with tentacles slowly drift through it. A chaotic fight begins and while Nightwing tries to stop the female leader of the aliens, Flash sprints through the house vibrating through as much walls as possible. In the end, this leads to the destruction of the building followed by the closing of the dimensional rift which also sucks all remaining aliens back into it ...
